In the face of Donald Trump’s unjustified threats, we must protect Canada and strengthen our resilience. Jonathan has been a leader in Canada’s response to the Trump Administration—he has gone to Washington a number of times to have tough conversations and defend Canada’s interests.

Canada has:

  • Worked collaboratively with provinces and territories to present a united Team Canada approach.

  • Developed a robust response to Trump’s tariffs, which includes a 25% tariff on $155 billion worth of imported American goods.

  • Addressed border concerns by launching a $1.3B border plan that has reduced already minimal fentanyl flows by 97%.

  • Maintained strong support for businesses and workers directly impacted by U.S. tariffs.

Stand up for our Economy

Protecting and growing our economy means protecting and growing our middle class. To maintain our world-class services and keep Canada strong, we need to create wealth and accelerate economic growth.

Jonathan has been at the heart of the government’s work to build an economy that will be strong and prosperous in the future, including:

  • Lowering the small business tax rate.

  • Establishing the $15 billion Canada Growth Fund to attract private investment to Canada.

  • Successfully pursuing multi-billion-dollar investments in critical minerals, renewable energy projects, battery and electric vehicle manufacturing, and low-carbon LNG facilities.

  • Keeping Canada’s debt-to-GDP ratio the lowest in the G7.

Stand up for our Community

The North Shore is a special place—one we can be proud to call home. We need to make sure our community is safe, healthy, affordable, and accessible.

That is why Jonathan has successfully advocated in Ottawa for:

  • Nearly $20 million through the Housing Accelerator Fund to build over 3,000 homes in North Vancouver.

  • Banning over 2,500 different kinds of assault-style firearms to keep our streets safe.

  • Ongoing support for the North Shore’s largest employer, Seaspan Shipyards, including a $3.15 billion contract for Canada’s new polar icebreaker.

  • A comprehensive and ambitious plan to fight climate change, including the historic Oceans Protection Plan.

  • Powerful sanctions on Iran and listing the IRGC as a terrorist entity.
